Homeless
Well, we need to be moved out of our house in Dallas in approximately 3 weeks. We can't even figure out how to fill out the move.mil form. I guess it doesnt matter because we can't find a house anyway. We originally found 3 houses willing to lease to us with our four dogs and my bad credit. The problem was we didn't have the official orders. Hurry up and wait and wait and wait. Found out the orders and lost out on the houses because we waited to long. Now there is either a house that would rent to us with my credit but not all the dogs. And vice versa. There is nobody to help us, no real links to any websites to help us. Basically this sucks. And now we are going to be a homeless military family. Come on America. Wake up. The economy sucks and most people have terrible credit. Why else does a couple in their mid 30's decide to join the military? My husband originally wanted to be a school teacher, but with the Texas economy that wasnt going to happen. Instead of "Occupying Wall Street" like a bunch of pathetic people are, we decide to be proactive and join the military so my husband can attend grad school. Ok, enough bitching. Prayers and miracles needed.

Moving On Down the Road...
So my Hubs finally knows one thing about our move, well two things. We know we are moving to JAX NAS and he has to report to duty on August 1, 2012. The thing i find uncomfortable is he graduates from 'A' school in 2.5 weeks. They still haven't briefed them on any specifics. We have no clue what expenses will be paid, or any of those small details. I am starting to lose it. I don't like being in the dark about things.
Did i mention we have four, yes FOUR dogs? Total beating. I don't know how Navy spouses do this, I mean they have kids I assume. I am just dealing with dogs here, and my husband might have to commit me to the Nut House. I guess with kids they can at least help out. Finding houses that will let us rent really hasn't been an issue. The main issue was not knowing when we would be moving. At least we found that out yesterday. We lost out on a really cute house because I wasn't sure of the time frame. The realtor called yesterday and said there was an application on the house. BOO! Hoo!
If you are a military spouse out there then expect to know nothing until the last minute. No big deal, we are only moving over four states. Being that we are in Texas that should count for like two more states.

So I am new to this Navy Wife thing. My husband left on Feb, 29. 2012. One thing nobody prepared me for was the lack of communication we would have while he was in boot camp. Literally, expect 3 phone calls while your loved one is in Hell, er boot camp. My husband called me on March 1 to let me know he arrived to Illinois safely. The call lasted all of 3 seconds. The next phone call was about 5 weeks later. The 3rd was two days before he got out. Its kind of sweet in a pathetic way. Writing old fashioned love letters the way my grandparents did during WWII and my parents did in Vietnam.
My husband didn't even know I was going to his boot camp graduation until that last phone call. The mail in boot camp is slower than molasses. So, did i mention the last time I saw my husband was the Friday of his graduation? That was all of five hours. Don't worry, once they get to 'A' school the lines of communication really opens up.
I still haven't seen my hubs since that May afternoon. It is really because I can't afford to. Otherwise, I would have been there already.
Thankfully, he is almost done with school and we will be moving to Jacksonville, FL soon. Probably by the end of July. That much I know already. When we are moving, well that's another story. Hurry up and wait, my Dad's favorite catch phrase. He was an officer in the Navy. Now i get it, funny how that works.
I want to start a blog so i can network better with other military people. Hopefully it will work. There are many hurdles to jump over being the spouse of a military person.
So keeping a diary that anybody could read seemed logical. lol
So here goes nothing. Anchors Aweigh...
